Ashton replacing Charlie

                                   Is Ashton Kutcher the ideal replacement of Charlie Sheen? 
             After watching the first episode of the new season of Two and a Half Men my impression is that none other than the producers themselves understood that the answer is no. What they did was to create an entirely new character, somebody who were able to create his own niche rather than occupy the one Sheen left vacant, and they will try to move forward from that premise. Ashton is a not a bad actor and he did pretty well but truly I can´t see this series repeating the success it had without Sheen´s character to make his brother´s life miserable in his own particular style. I might be wrong though and I hope I am. There are nevertheless things that make me suspicious about the whole mess and one of them is that recently Charlie Sheen seemed to have reached a friendly agreement to settle the legal problem he had with the producers of Two and a Half Men. We all need to take a sabbatical once in a while and perhaps this is what really happened here and soon we will see Sheen returning triumphant to the set for a final season or at least a final episode. You never know with these Hollywood people...

I agree with you, Two and a Half men was one of my favourite comedy series, but without sheen it isn't the same, because before existed a correct balance: Charlie was the men succesful with women and money, and Alan was his unlucky brother that lived with him. Now the character of Ashton it's he acts in an infant way, doesn't seems good with women ( in the first chapter ashton wanted to suicide because his girldfriend broke up with him) and he doesn't like alcohol is like the oposite of Charlie, as I said before the serie lost it balance.

I think it´s true, two and a half men is not the same without charlie. Charlie was the show, most of the jokes and the fun was from charlie. ashton it´s a good actor,and had made good comedy movies, but he cannot compite with charlie sheen. without him, the sitcom changed a lot. In order to still being a good serie, other character, such as alan or alan´s girlfriends, started to participate more and make more fun. bun when charlie was in TAHM, they didn´t need to do that.

The Maps of Ship-Trap Island

Once I had my high school students read The Most Dangerous Game, a short story by Richard Connell. Rainsford, the main character, is a professional hunter traveling by ship to his next hunting area, accidentally ends up in an island called Ship- Trap island. When he goes into the island he finds there are two men living in a palace in the island. One of them is a Cossack general and the other, his brutish servant.  The Cossack is called general Zaroff who is also  a game hunter but has become bored of hunting regular game and now uses the island's unique position to capture sailors from shipwrecks. He lets them go first and next after some time he hunts them down. Rainford's arrival who is worldwide famous presents Zaroff with a rare opportunity to find excitement in hunting again by hunting another hunter. Little does Zaroff know that Rainsford is The Most Dangerous Game in the World and hunting him will not be easy at all. My students enjoyed themselves at reading

How do you say NACIMIENTO NAVIDEÑO in English?

"Oh no! Not another power blackout!"             NACIMIENTO NAVIDEÑO or PESEBRE NAVIDEÑO is a tradition which consists in recreating the moment of Jesus Christ's birth with small figures representing Joseph, Mary, the shepherds and the Wise Kings. Baby Jesus is set on December 25th of course, while the other figures are placed before, usually at the beginning of December.       The translation is NATIVITY SCENE, though some people only say CHRISTMAS SCENE. This last term is a bit broad -- even an image of Santa Claus riding his sleigh falls under that description. Saying CHRISTMAS NATIVITY SCENE would be perhaps more appropriate.                                                                                        Merry Christmas!
