Iron Man: Rise of The Technovore
For all those who cannot have enough Iron Man here is one of those Anime-styled productions that Marvel has been releasing in the last few years and that have also received great reviews for both the quality of animation and the story that aims at a somewhat older audience than your regular kid.
This production is a follow to the twelve-episode story that finds Stark visiting Japan where he leads a project to help mankind with the help of his Japanese associates; but before he can finish it he faces the fiercest opposition of a criminal and powerful society called The Zodiac.
After his visit to Japan, Stark wants to send to space a satellite called Howard (like his father) that will help control crime all over the world.
Supervising that everything is in order along his friend Jim Rhodes a.k.a. The War Machine the launch site of the satellite suffers a terrorist attack and a lot of innocents die. Even the War Machine is presumed dead and his body nowhere to be found after the devastating attack.
The authorities want to question Stark but he refuses and this puts him in direct conflict with Nick Fury, director of SHIELD who sends all SHIELD agents to restrain Iron Man. The truth is Stark feels his enemy is out there, an enemy with a technology that is far more advanced than his. The Technovore is someone from his past and Stark does not want to waste a moment to find him and find out who he is.
As I said before this story is a follow to Stark's tenure in Japan but in a way also a follow to his encounter with The Avengers since two of them also appear here and they are Hawkeye and the Black Widow who work under Fury's orders ao they are also his opponents. In order to balance things out on his side Tony incidentally enlists the help of one of the most interesting antiheroes in the Marvel universe: The Punisher.
So the players are all in position and what happens after the great confrontation is over prepares the stage for the events of Iron Man 3. In this film the action does not ever stop, the story is only acceptable but the quality of the visuals is as good as you can get in the Animé market. Then if you like the character and you have gone through the Animé experience in the past, Iron Man: Rise of The Technovore is right for you.
