Origin of the Word Sandwich
True, what we know as SANDWICH has a story that is a bit funny. We know what a sandwich is: two or more slices of bread with one or more fillings between the slices, fillings that can vary in nature which is what makes sandwiches so popular. That versatility and at the same time practicality allows the creation of the most unsuspected meals you can imagine imagine you can make sandwiches with pretty much anything that can be eaten (a friend of mine loves his "Bean" sandwich). Sandwiches are ideal as an alternative for a quick and delicious lunch. Even the bread can be covered with other ingredients to make the whole sandwich even more delicious. You can find sandwiches everywhere in all sizes, colors, hot or cold, and with any possible ingredient18th-century English noble man, who loved to play cards.
One day after being tired of leaving his own cards greasy for having meat with his bare fingers he ordered his aid to bring him meat set between two bread slices so he could also continue playing cards for as long as he wanted. Montagu was an Earl of Sandwich, and his friends ordered similar food items, saying things like the wanted "to eat like Sandwich". Apparently sandwiches had already existed in very primitive forms as early as the time when the people of Israel left the Egyptian empire, but was never completely popular until John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich (an Earl is a title similar in rank thats that of a Count).
