R.S.V.P.: A useful acronym

Well, it is useful if you are to invite other people to a special occasion (with emphasis in special).
R.S.V.P. is an acronym (also called Initialism) and as such it represents a group of words, but curiously none of them is English. In fact, all of them are taken from the French language and they are:
Répondez s'il vous plaît
They mean: "Please, respond", to the invitation of course, meaning that confirmation of your presence in the event is expected. The reason why French words are used come from long ago, from a time when French and not yet English, was the language that most educated people wanted to learn. As we can see, times and preferences, change easily, but still some of that reaches us after so long.
