How do you say Golpe de Estado in English?

Amazingly enough there is not really a word in English to say GOLPE DE ESTADO. English takes from French for this one with the term being COUP D' ETAT. Of course, it begs the question: Why is that? Why does English have to borrow from another language?
The answer is perhaps in History. If we read the History of the U.S. for example, we will find no attempt to take over the country and by extension any other English-speaking country-
Other related terms: Coup, Overthrow and Peutsch.
