Australia: All its Major Cities are in the Coast

Australia is unique in more than one way. It is an island, one so big that is actually considered a continent. It is a continental mass that is occupied by one single country also known as a Australia (whose territory also includes Tasmania and other numerous small islands), the capital of which is Canberra.
For a long time it was only inhabited by aborigines. It is believed these first Australians lived peacefully in the territory for about 40,000 years until Dutch explorers arrived in 1606. The Dutch were followed by the British who claimed this territory at some point in the late 1800s. Slowly but steadily the Europeans settlers grew in number. Now the number of Australians, which also includes the aborigine descendants, is around the twenty-five million inhabitants.
Australia has never had the convoluted history that other European colonies had in order to become independent and that is perhaps because it did not need to. There were no wars or anything like that but a long transition until all the neighboring colonies and territories came together and agreed to become a federation. The political system that Australia has works as a  federal parliamentary and constitutional monarchy so the Queen Elizabeth II is also the Queen of Australia and governs through her representatives, the General Governors.
Australia is also unique because of its amazing fauna. This mega diverse country is in geographical terms isolated from the rest of the world which helped the fauna (mostly marsupials) and flora evolve somewhat differently from the rest of the globe. Kangaroos and Koalas are famous around the world and have become symbols of Australia everywhere, though there are also other animals such as the wallabies, wombats,  dingos, echidnas and emuses.

Because Australia is quite wide rainclouds do not usually reach the center of the country which remains as a semiarid region most of the year. The weather is mostly temperate to the south and in the coastal regions which is why most of the Australian major cities are in that portion of the territory which is highly urbanized and some of these buildings exhibit an ambitious architecture that has become emblematic of certain cities such as Sidney and its well known Opera House building.
With a very wealthy and healthy economy and a population that enjoy a high level of education, Australia builds every day a bright and promising future for the following generations.
