Fast and Furious 6

Fast and Furious 6, or just Furious 6, has to be one of those movies that are mega popular just because of the amazing amount of action they offer. Action, action and action but very little in terms of story.
Furious 6 is a 2013 film that continues with the adventures of a group of professional criminals led by Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) who has retired following the events in Fast Five (2011). They are all now millionaires but cannot return to the States because they remain wanted felons. An agent of the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) called Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson, the Rock) offers them complete amnesty  and the chance to return home in exchange of their help. Hobbs knows that he needs special help to take down a quite efficient mercenary organization led by Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). Toretto is at first uninterested especially considering that in the past his crew faced only gangsters but not anything or anybody at that level. He changes his mind when  Hobbs shows him pictures of who is Shaw's second in command, none other than Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) the love of his life who was presumably dead. Brian O' Conner (Paul Walker) and Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) will rejoin Toretto ready to help his friend and eager to drive the fastest cars and help save the world in the process.
If you love action films this has to be one of the most action packed movies ever produced. The sequences are trepidating and several things happen literally in the blink of an eye. This is not a picture to sit down and relax comfortably in your seat. It's simply not possible. The car chases are truly something in particular that one when Toretto and his crew attempt to defend an important Intel chip, end up facing an Army tank and recover Letty.
In terms of action this movie reigns supreme, with music and photography that are exceptional and  only the acting disappoints: these people are great at making action scenes but are lacking as performers and perhaps is not their fault but the writer's because these characters are unidimensional and irrelevant to the extreme.  Still ,expect a sequel, not only because the film has been a financial success but because the were going to make it anyway. And you can see that in the post-credit scene when  Jason Statham makes a surprising cameo appearance and kills in Tokyo, Japan, when of Toretto´s  crew members announcing himself as the next villain of the franchise.
